What is Flat Team Hierarchy?
The Flat Team Hierarchy represents only direct reporting lines between managers and their immediate employees. This avoids nested structures, ensuring each manager’s span of control is shown clearly.
Associated Filters:
These filters are found in the TeamMember table.
- IsActive = TRUE → only active employees are displayed.
- IsHouseOrTestAccount = FALSE → hides test/house accounts.
Display Logic:
- Each Team Manager and their direct reports are displayed as a standalone team in the flat view, which differs from the Team Hierarchy where managers are nested under their own managers.
- If a manager reports to another manager, they will appear as the head of a separate flat team.
- By default, only members with values for the selected KPI appear.
- To view the full hierarchy, including members without KPI values, use the test KPI called Total HC.
Best Practice:
Rows should be displayed as: Manager → Direct Reports only
Example:
- In Team Hierarchy: Manager A with Manager B under them would show Manager B’s entire team nested under A.
- In Flat Team Hierarchy: Manager B and their team are shown as a separate team, without being nested under A.
